I didn't realize quite how long it had been - I'd never intended to make this one more abandoned blog.

Back to the sudden, overnight 2 kilo gain.

I discussed it with my doctor, and he suggested I cut out salty foods.  - a bit difficult, because I rarely eat salty foods, and I don't put salt on cooked foods.  I used to have bacon regularly, but its banned on Rosedale, so I only have it very occasionally when I'm eating out.  On Rosedale I do have a few nuts, but not salted.

So I started looking for hidden sodium, and I identified two things that I've been having daily, or almost daily:

  • sodium ascorbate Vitamin C tablets - so I switched to calcium ascorbate - just as effective, minus the sodium
  • Diet Coke !!! This one was a surprise - Diet Coke seems to have quite a lot of sodium - much more than Pepsi.  Switching to Pepsi isn't really an option for me, because its not as widely available - eg not available at the canteen at work.  So I'm dropping cola drinks (sigh)  OK, they're not allowed on the Rosedale diet anyway, but I'd been drinking Diet Coke almost every day.
