No! How did this happen?  Small daily fluctuations are to be expected, but two kilos?

All that I ate that was *slightly* different was a spinach salad that I ordered for a restaurant lunch.  The salad had spinach, avocado, pine nuts - all OK on the diet -  and on the top, were a few, paper-thin crispy slices of Pancetta (italian bacon).

Now yes, I know processed meats are not allowed on the diet, but I ate the Pancetta anyway, and it was salty, but delicious.

And now I'm two kilos (nearly 5 pounds) heavier. Of course, I'm hoping that its just fluid retention, and that the scale will go back down again very soon.

  • Those two kilos gone again - fluid?
  • Well the two kilos that turned up overnight, slowly disappeared over two or three days.  I suspect the sudden weight gain was purely fluid retention from the salty pancetta.Hmm, could this be one of the reasons why bacon and ham are banned on the Rosedale diet?I have to admit, that given
