Books: Carbohydrate Addict's DietSome people find CAD an easier low carb diet, because it doesn't require carbohydrate counting, and because it allows high carbohydrate foods at the main meal. But if you're thinking of trying the Carbohydrate Addict's Diet (CAD), you really do need to read both the book and its sequel the Carbohyrate Addict's Lifespan Program (CALP). Many people loved the Carbohydrate Addict's Diet book, because they thought it said: 'for your reward meal, you can eat as much as you want, anything you want, for one hour every day'. But that isn't exactly what the Hellers said, and of course, it doesn't work for people who get it wrong!. If you're planning on doing CAD, be sure to read the second book (The Carbohydrate Addict's Lifespan Program) as well, where the Hellers explain exactly what they mean by a balanced reward meal - this is really the key to success with this diet. A list of CAD and CALP books follows - click on the title or image for more information about the book. |
